What is the full arch implants?
Full arch implants restoration is a technique that includes the accurate placement of titanium implants in the jaw bone. These help as anchors for a full dental bridge of false teeth that can offer whole restoration for tooth damage.
As this method is able to offer the same structural support as outdated single implant treatments with fewer implants and fewer incisions, the complete treatment and recovery times are significantly compact.

Who is suitable for full arch implants?
Our Better Smiles Bondi Junction dentists can recommend this treatment if you have lost your teeth or all of your teeth, or if your balance teeth have been severely damaged by decay or gum disease and need to be removed.
If you are eligible for this procedure, you must have sufficient bone for the inserts to be placed into. It is also required for the candidate to be a non-smoker and not suffer from diabetes.
What happens during the procedure?
Our dentists will make sure you have a full understanding of the full arch implants procedure. This treatment depends on the specific case.
- Sedation– We provide local anaesthesia so you can’t feel pain during the treatment.
- Extraction– If you have any remaining teeth, these will need to be extracted before the implants can be placed. If a large number of teeth need to be extracted, or we spot signs of gum disease or an infection, we can place impermanent provisional teeth and endure your implant treatment after your mouth has had time to restore.
- Placing the implants– If your mouth is ready for implants to be placed, our dentist will make the implant sites to avoid infection. We’ll then sensibly make slits in your gum and place the titanium implants securely in the jaw. In most cases, two implants are placed towards the front of the mouth and two at the back, but you need extra implants reliant on the size and condition of your jaw.
- Placing the dental bridge– Once the implants have been placed, we will clean and disinfect the treated areas and attach your artificial dental bridge. These extra teeth are designed by our dentists to appear as close to natural teeth as probable and will be strongly anchored by the implants.

Risks during full arch implants
As with any surgical procedure of Dental Implants, there is continuously a slight possibility of risks with the full arch implants restoration. Our dentists take every precaution to minimise these risks, and we’ll make sure you have all the information before you agree to the treatment so that you can make an informed choice.
Possible risks include infection of the implant sites, damage to nerves or blood vessels, and probable sinus complications with implants placed in the upper jaw. You will feel some pain and uneasiness after the procedure, but this can typically be managed using pain relief and home medications.
